From January 2007 onwards, the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) replaces a series of European Union programmes and financial instruments for candidate countries or potential candidate countries. The aim is to support the performance of EU Funds related projects.

This European seminar gives an overview of challenges IPA and EU Funds specialists are confronted with. They will learn how to successfully conduct IPA projects and become familiar with rules and guidelines of the IPA framework. Irina Cruceru from the European Commission will explain the Key Elements of Cross-Border-Cooperation. Participants will get to know more about Programming, Preparation, Implementation and Monitoring of Projects – Quality Assurance, How to communicate with the EU and the Challenges during the transition process.

Speakers from Croatia, Latvia and Serbia will present among others Case Studies and Best Practise about “From Candidate Country to Member State”, “Waste Management” or “Strengthening Local Self-Government”.
