More of McWorld, or EuroSocialism for everyone?

Kick-off to a new series of small group discussions on the Euro-Atlantic relationship in 2020

Café St. Oberholz, Rosenthaler Platz (U8, M1, M8)
Rosenthaler Platz
Berlin
Berlin Brandenburg

Beschreibung:

Europeans are just happier, healthier, and better educated than

Americans, yet simultaneously manage to be equally as productive and

economically successful. Europe's model of network governance, pooled

sovereignty and integration instead of America's "cowboy diplomacy" is

better suited to an increasingly interdependent world; hence it is being

emulated around the globe while America draws mainly fear and loathing -

or so the likes of authors Jeremy Rifkin, Mark Leonard and T.R. Reid*

would have us believe in their recent books on Europe's ascent and

America's fall.

You are invited to join a kick-off discussion on our own future

Euro-Atlantic relationship in 2020, when the Cold War people will have

given way to us - the first truly European generation and our American

friends. What will our transatlantic world look like? Is the European

Project going to prevail, or perhaps even eclipse the soft power of the

American Dream, or can we anticipate yet another American century?

Join us for a small group discussion featuring participants from both

sides of the ocean, young Europeans and Americans living in Berlin. This

is not a lecture; it's your chance to engage in debate as much as ours!

Please join us for the

1st Berlin Euratlantic Wednesday

January 25, 8pm

Café St. Oberholz, Rosenthaler Platz (U8, M1, M8)
