Youth Exchange "Social-idarity"

Young people from different European cultures and social backgrounds will meet during nine days in Lisbon for a youth exchange to discuss the topics of social cohesion and European identity.

A central aspect of the exchange will be to discover the district of Damaia in Amadora, a multicultural place where many initiatives exist to foster social inclusion and active participation on local level. Questions of identity, integration, and borders of Europe will automatically arise while exploring the social reality on spot and contributing to a learning process on cultural diversity and anti-discrimination.

Methods of non formal education accompany the visit to Damaia creating time and space for exchange of opinions, ideas and experiences as well as facilitating diverse debates and discussions on the issues at stake.

The youth exchange will gather 36 youngsters aged between 18 and 25 from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy and Portugal.

Conditions

As the project is partially financed by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission, board and accommodation are fully covered by the organisers. Moreover 70% of the travelling expenses will be reimbursed by the organisers upon presentation of the travel documents.

Applicants

To apply to participate in this project, you have to be legally registered as living in Germany, to be aged 18-25 and to be open-minded. No international experiences are required, but a basic level of English is recommended. For applying, please send a short CV to eif.germany@googlemail.com mentioning the title of the project.
