The programme of this conference will include panel discussions and workshops with a focus on the integration of Europe after the fall of the iron curtain 20 years ago and the perspectives on further European enlargement.
The conference will be attended by other international media and political representatives and welcome all national winners from all over Europe.
The European Young Journalist Award 2009 was organised by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Enlargement, in cooperation with the European Youth Press. Young journalists from the EU Member States, candidate countries and potential candidate countries were invited to participate in the competition. National juries, made up of media representatives, selected the winning articles out of 600 entries in June 2009. All national winners are now invited to a trip to Berlin, taking place from 29 August to 2 September 2009, to meet representatives from politics, media, universities and civil society to discuss various issues linked to the enlargement of the European Union.
