Beschreibung:
International planning cooperation as INTERREG makes obvious that development processes and planning decisions are influenced by cultural contexts. The project CULTPLAN ("Planning as Culture in Europe"), which is funded by the EU-initiative INTERACT, is focusing on aspects of cultural variety and cultural differences in INTERREG-projects, e.g. different perception and meaning of space, specific traditions and philosophies, societal rules and values. Its results shall contribute to a better interregional cooperation on the European level.
As part of CULTPLAN the International Symposium will concentrate on planning cultures, especially on planning systems and traditions, perception of planning within society, planning strategies and instruments, and actors involved in planning processes.
Therefore, a one and a half-day symposium with international participants and experts is planned. The Symposium will be attended by an international Advisory Committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Joerg Knieling (HCU Hamburg, Germany).
The official language of the symposium is English.
