Beschreibung:

Dear young Europeans from Germany, Sweden and Spain!

The European Academy Berlin and their partners, the National Museums of World Culture (Sweden), the national office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (Spain) as well as their media partner Treffpunkt Europa, are looking for six participants each from Germany, Sweden and Spain for their project Newsroom Europe.

In this project you will monitor and report on the topics, meetings and events of the EU Presidencies of Spain and Sweden in 2023. In a kick-off seminar in Berlin in March 2023, there will be an introduction to critical and constructive media reporting through training sessions with experienced journalists and interactive, playful role-plays on how the EU Presidency works. Here, there will be an introduction to the priorities of the Presidency by official representatives of the embassies and have the opportunity to talk to European politicians, NGO representatives and journalists. At Newsroom Europe you will learn what it takes to produce exciting articles, podcasts and social media stories. On two excursions to Spain and Sweden, you will take a look behind the scenes of the EU Council Presidency. There, you will take on the role of a journalist and talk to representatives of the EU Presidency, visit interesting organisations and write your articles in a team.

Between the face-to-face meetings, there will be a  meeting once a month for a digital editorial meeting. Here, the individual articles will be discussed before publication. Interesting guests from Germany, Sweden and Spain will give an insight into their work and current issues in the European Union. This project is part of our long-term goal to create a European network of young Europeans and to promote the debate on the future of Europe beyond the national media audience. If you want to participate and meet the following criteria, apply now and become part of "Newsroom Europe"!

Requirements for participation:

  • Having a habitual place of residence in one of the three countries: Germany, Sweden or Spain,
